How to Submit Your Degree Application
Plan to submit your application at least one quarter in advance of your expected degree completion term. Please check the University’s calendar for specific deadlines. Late applications will incur a $100 fee.

Before submitting your application to graduate, please be sure you have completed the following steps:
- Reviewed a degree audit that verifies completion/registration for minimum number of credits in a declared program.
- Attained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Met all program prerequisite requirements.
- Scheduled the necessary comprehensive exam and/or defense of thesis/project.
- Satisfied all deficiencies, incomplete (I) and in progress (IP) grades.
12-Click Process
- Sign in to myWWU.
- Select “PeopleSoft Student Center Classic” under "Student Apps."
- Select "My Academics” on the left side of the screen.
- Click the “Apply for Graduation” option and verify your degree, major, and/or minor.
- If your degree information is correct, click “Apply for Graduation.” If it is not correct, contact the Registrar for assistance.
- Select the term you plan to graduate from the drop-down menu. Be sure to select the term in which you will complete your requirements—not the term you intend to march in Commencement.
- Click “Continue.”
- Click the checkbox to acknowledge you understand your name will be included in the Commencement program. If you would like your name to appear differently on your diploma and in the Commencement program, edit the name fields. If you enter an initial in place of your middle name, please put a period after it (e.g., Wally W. Wolf not Wally W Wolf)
- Click “Continue.”
Review your classes listed for the remaining terms of enrollment prior to degree completion. (Please note: You do not need to attach your class schedule to your application.)
Describe adjustments that are not included in the registration list.
If you are planning to take a course from another college or university, be sure to submit a Transfer Course Approval Request to ensure your course will transfer the way you anticipate and you will be in compliance with the resident credit requirement for graduation.
- Click “Continue.”
- Click the checkbox at the end of the application to indicate you have read and agree with the terms presented.
- Click “Continue.”
You have successfully applied to graduate.
Your application will be available for departmental review in approximately 24 hours. Once your program/plan has been approved by your Graduate Program Director, your application will be available to Academic Records for final approval. Because of the high number of applications being processed, please allow 8–10 weeks for a response.
All communication regarding your application will be sent to your WWU email, including your final approval notification from the registrar. Please also review your myWWU checklist for outstanding items you will need to complete to be eligible to march in Commencement and ultimately complete your degree.

Go to "Self Service" > "My Academics" > "Apply to Graduate" and click “View Graduation Status.”
Need to add or drop a class after submitting your degree application?
- If the change is before the 5th day of the quarter, submit a Changes to Degree Application form.
- If adding a course puts you at an overload or conflicts with another course you’re enrolled in, submit the Change of Registration form.
- If requesting to add a course between the 5th day and the 10th day of a quarter or requesting to drop a course through the 7th week of a quarter, submit the Change of Registration form.
- If requesting to add a course after the 10th day of a quarter, submit the Late Add Request form.
- If requesting to drop a course after the 7th week of a quarter, submit the Late Drop Request form.
